Hello, my name is Paul Porter and I've been turning wood for more than a decade. I work with found wood most of the time. I am intrigued with the hidden beauty of wood that is destined for the firewood pile or landfill.

I am influenced by the native American pottery styles of the American southwest. The shapes are timeless...

I have recently discovered the pottery of Mata Ortiz. The village in Mexico where the residents have relearned the pottery making skills of their ancestors.  The shapes and decoration are incredible.

I am a member of the Arizona Woodturners Association and the American Association of Woodturners.
